Animation

Animation
Doing the animation for my scene was very troublesome. I firstly wanted to create a path for camera to follow, whilst showing the viewer the entire scene I have made and then moving around Skyscraper 01 whilst fixated on a point so it revolves around it. The first thing I did was made a helix around the skyscraper. The helix's radius at the top and bottom was 125.0m and there are a total of 4 turns in the helix. I then added a path from the start of the scene, in between the other 2 skyscrapers, and linked it with the bottom of the helix, by using the weld tool.

The next step was to create the camera. This was done by creating a target camera and setting the target point inside a sphere. I then gave the sphere an invisible material, so it wouldn't be seen during the video.
The video of this entire camera production can be seen on my YouTube site.

The next step was to get the helicopter blades to move. This was done by revolving the blades 20 degrees and then setting key frames every 2 frames. I then used the curve editor to repeat the process so they would rotate continuously throughout the scene. I used the exact same process to rotate the tail rotor as well.

The next step was to create a path for the helicopter to follow. I did this by creating a 1 loop helix with a radius at the bottom of 125.0m and a radius at the top of 100.0m. I then grouped all the parts of the helicopter together and linked it with the path and also set the follow tool, so it would move with the path.
The enxt step was animating a bi-ped. I used a bi-ped so I could attach my character model into the scene at a later point. I firstly made 5 footprints with the "Create Multiple Footprint" tool. This made the bi-ped walk in a straight line. I then added a jump feature, where the bi-ped will jump to footsteps 6 and 7, then followed by a large jump to 8 and 9.
The whole production can be seen on my YouTube site.
